Cueva de Lindaraja

Location

We're in the Sacromonte, a short stroll from the Albayzín and Granada city centre.

The Sacromonte neighbourhood is in the heart of Granada, just a few minutes’ walk from the iconic Albayzín quarter and the city centre.

Cueva de Lindaraja is on Calle Barranco de los Naranjos, right next to the Camino del Sacromonte, in a neighbourhood of tradition, caves, prickly pears and agaves, art, great views and cobbled streets. Facing south-west, it has superb views of the Alhambra and the Generalife.

What’s nearby?

Everything is close by. Granada is a small city with excellent public transport links, though walking is the best way to get around, as the walks are short and very pretty. These are the approximate walking times from the house:

The nearest bus stop, Camino del Sacromonte 89 (line C34), is about 40 metres from the house. Each route is explained step by step in Getting here.

The Cathedral makes a good starting point for a monuments trail. Right next door is the Capilla Real (Royal Chapel), and close by you’ll find the Corral del Carbón, the Museo Casa de los Tiros and Plaza de Isabel la Católica. They’re all on a route of about 800 metres, so you can see how easy it is to explore Granada on foot.

The walk to the Alhambra goes up the Cuesta del Rey Chico, also known as the Cuesta de los Chinos, and takes about 25 minutes. Highly recommended.

Plaza Larga is the heart of the upper Albayzín, and the statue of Columbus (Colón) marks the way into the Realejo quarter. Both are very close too.

As you can see, the best plan is to walk and use public transport.
