Charming Shops in Granada

Let's talk about unique and interesting shops worth keeping in mind on your visit to Granada

Updated on 29 September 2023

It’s not all about the Alhambra, Sierra Nevada and yet more monuments. Granada has an enormous wealth of culture and tradition, so we’re going to try to put together a short collection of key places to visit to get to know the city a little better. Craftspeople, traditional bars, shops, charming streets… You’ll find all this and more here.

Just so you know, this is a list we’ve put together ourselves and it’s by no means everything there is.

In this post we’re going to focus on shops, whether they sell souvenirs, handicrafts or traditional goods… You’ll be able to take home a lovely memento of the city without having to wander around looking for one.

Handicrafts

Leather, ceramics, taracea (inlaid marquetry)… All very typical of Granada and handmade by craftspeople with a long tradition. Without a doubt the best souvenirs you can take home.

Munira Leather

A craft shop working mainly with leather and silk, although they also have jewellery and sculptures.

Souvenirs

In these shops you’ll find all sorts of things to take back as gifts for friends and family. In Granada it’s very common to buy souvenirs made of Fajalauza pottery, a long-standing tradition in the city, or taracea, a craft technique in which pieces of different sizes and materials are fitted into a base, usually wood.

Items related to flamenco, the Alhambra and Arabic designs are also very popular.

Artesanías Medina

With 6 shops in Granada, it’s one of the places with the widest range: fans, keyrings, mugs, textiles…

D’Granada

Souvenirs, handicrafts, gourmet products and much more in any of their 3 shops in Granada.

La alboreá Granada

Here you’ll find ceramics, fans, items with Arabic designs and plenty more, so you can head home with your bags full.

Shops

These shops offer something different from the ones above, but they’re no less worth a look. They give you the chance to take home a different kind of souvenir of the city.

Tienda librería de la Alhambra

This shop, located in the Alhambra, specialises in the Alhambra. It sells books about the monument and about the city of Granada, as well as reproductions of the Alhambra’s best-known motifs.

Galería Alea

“Handmade works with personality” It’s an art space, a gallery, a shop… a bit of everything. You’ll find a wide variety of handcrafted and limited-edition pieces. Definitely worth a visit.

Medievo Granada

A shop specialising in teas and everything you need to prepare them. They also stock some artisan gourmet products. Don’t go hungry or you’ll never leave!
